Project Status Reporting Strengths Weakness And Recommendations

Question: Discuss about the Project Status Reporting Strengths Weakness And Recommendations For Improvements. Answer: Project status reporting is a process whereby the management of a project life is monitored and controlled, and it includes; the general information for the project that is the name of the project, the manager and also the sources(Kerzner, 2013). The project status report templates may include business report template and daily work schedule template. Business Report Templates The business report which is a professional design is used to make a report for any particular business. The advantage of a business report template is that it gives one vocabulary which summarizes the message for easy understanding. It provides the whole information of the business, tools, theories and any improvements required. It may be used for a future development of any business(Young, 2013). Even though the business status report templates are useful, they still have their limitations which include; it may be costly to make the statements which may affect the financial situation of the management, some business status reports may be difficult to get the information of the whole business, they may not also be easily compared and also the quality of the information available may be limited. Any business should look at both the strengths and weaknesses of the firm reports and come up with ways on how they can improve their managements(Gido J Clements, 2014). Daily work Schedule Templates Daily work schedule is another status report template that is used to capture information concerning the daily or even weekly practices of business(Kerzner, 2013). This is useful because one can keep the records of any task that has to be completed and not to forget any planned meeting or event. They improve the employees' morale, reduce absenteeism and also increase the hours of operation. For employees, they can meet their family efficiently and fulfill their personal needs. However, the daily work schedule has weaknesses which include; for employees; they may work all day and also while working at home, friends and the neighbors might think that they are not working. For employers, their clients may fail to get the reports because they expect to be served every working day and they may not be available. They may also be discriminated against by the office workers who think that the work at home employers do not have any productive businesses. The daily work schedule templates have been useful to the employees who think that they bring about productivity and hence they should ensure that the reports are well scheduled for improvement of the business management. The challenges of traffic light reports include; there are a lot of conflicts due to movements of many people. Hit and run cases are reported, conflicts among drivers overtaking each other and also speeding cars. Status reports for sponsors ensure the projects are received and checked on regularly and solve issues which team leaders may not be able to tackle. For steering committee, they give guidance and support while the project teams provide information to the sponsors of the project(Tracy, 2016). Agile project management differs from the traditional administration in that; it focuses on the customer interaction and satisfaction while the traditional focus on plans and how to adhere to them(Wysocki, 2011).
